Girls Make Beats (GMB) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers girls by expanding the female presence of music producers, DJs, and audio engineers. GMB was founded in 2013 by certified audio engineer, music producer and recording artist, Tiffany Miranda, who has a passion for helping to pave the way for young girls in their journey through the music industry. GMB works with girls ages 8-17 and hosts various programs including summer programs at a state of the art recording studio, after school programs, during school programs and workshops with partner organizations like the Miami-Dade County Library and Broward County library, YMCA and the City of Hallandale Beach. GMB has a focus on not only providing a safe place where girls learn creative and technical skills, but also has a strong focus on building confidence for our girls. GMB creates performance opportunities for girls to showcase their DJ Skills as well as their original music. Our girls have performed at notable community events such as the Young At Art Annual Recycled fashion show, Ft. Lauderdale Make A Difference Day, Feed the Homeless event with L’Union and much more. They have also been featured in the media on NBC6, Local 10 ABC News, The CW, Univision and more. Music has a profound impact on culture and music production has a huge influence on the direction of the music. It also offers longevity in the music industry. Our goal at GMB is to position girls to have a larger impact on culture through music.
